Spay/Neuter Every dog or cat that is adopted from the shelter must be spayed or neutered. Pet sterilization is mandatory to reduce the amount of starving, homeless animals in our area. The only exceptions are animals that are too young or lactating mothers. Of course, as soon as they are able to be sterilized, an appointment must be made at Two Summers and they will be spayed or neutered. Don't forget that your adoption fee includes this operation. All adoptions are prepaid, scheduled, and carefully monitored. If the dog or cat to be adopted had been spayed or neutered before it entered the shelter, the adoption can take place the same day after the new owner has paid the adoption fee. When your new pet is sterilized at the Two Summers Clinic he (or she) will be allowed to go home the same day. When the appointments are made for your new pet's sterilization, MRHS staff will explain the hours to admit your new buddy and what time is pickup. Directions to our clinic and all pre-op and post-op information will be provided. The "Tail of Two Summers" Two Summers is not a full service veterinary clinic. The sole purpose of Two Summers is to provide low cost spay and neuter surgeries for shelter animals, rescue groups, strays, and low-income individuals. We need the support of all veterinarians to make this work. Two Summers Spay and Neuter Clinic
